Courtyard Houses in Paros
Set within the rural landscape of Marpissa, Paros, this project comprises two contemporary single-storey residences designed to blend seamlessly with the Cycladic terrain. The architectural concept is guided by bioclimatic principles, orientation, and the desire to create a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living.
The residences are carefully positioned to maximize views while preserving privacy and integrating naturally into the site. Their low horizontal volumes follow the scale of the landscape, creating a discreet architectural presence that respects the character of the island.
Living spaces, dining areas, and bedrooms are organized around open-air terraces and sheltered outdoor rooms, extending daily life into the surrounding environment. Water features and pergola-covered spaces enhance the microclimate and reinforce the relationship between architecture, light, and nature.
A restrained material palette and simple geometric forms define the project, resulting in a contemporary interpretation of Cycladic living that balances comfort, privacy, and a deep connection to the landscape.
